| ABOUT TEMPLE |
In the heart of Chennai City, Broadway, there stands a temple with deities Lord Sri Varadharajan, Perunthevi Thayar, Andal, Anjaneyar and Nadathur Ammal. The Temple has been constructed way beyond 100 years ago.
Initially, Sri Anjaneyar Moolavar and Naghadevathai were the only deities there. Subsequently, with great efforts of Vidwan Sri Nadathur Ammal Krishnaswamy Iyengar, he initiated and installed more Moorthies. i.e Lord Varadharajan , Thayar, Andal.
In 1960s, he installed Uthsawar Anjaneyar and Nadathur Ammal along with Selvar Varadharajan which were purely in silver. As of now, the Silver Vigraham is only available in Thirukoshityur, apart from this temple. |
